Drill pipe: is hollow,thin-walled,steel or aluminium alloy piping that is used on drling rias. It is hollow to allow drilling fluid to be pumped down the hole throuah the bit and back up the annulus. It comes in a variety of sizes, strengths, and wall thicknesses, but is typically 27 to 32 feet in length (Range 2). Longer lengths, up to 45 feet,exist(Range 3).

Drill pipe wear belt with its cerain wear resistance, protect the drill pipe and casing from strong wear. The main products in the market are ARNCO 100XT, 200XT, 300XT and 400XT.

Heavy weight drill pipe (HWDP) is usually run in betwen the drill collars and the drill pipe in order to prevent fatigue of the drill pipe in the vertical drlling industry. Heavy weight drill pipe is also utilized in the horizontal directional drilling (HDD) industry for added strength in high stress situations. Heavy weight drill pipe (HWDP) may be used to make the transition between the drill collars and drill pipe. The function of the HWDP is to provide a flexible transition between the drill collars and the drill pipe.

Drill pipe:AP1 SPEC 5DP specifies the technical delivery conditions for steel drill-pipes with upset pipe-body ends and weld-on tool ioints for use in drilling and production operations in petroleum and natural gas industries for three product specifcation levels (PSL-1,PSL-2 and PSL-3). PS-1 specifies wall thickness, impact strength, and yield strength requirements specific to the material grade. Specification levels PL-2 / PL-3 have additional mandatory requirements
